Cookeville Moves Forward with Downtown Westside Revitalization Project

Big changes may be coming soon to downtown Cookeville! The Cookeville City Council recently approved hiring a design team to create a comprehensive master plan for the westside, including the newly acquired Wilson & Shanks Hotel property.

Public Meetings to Shape the Future

Residents will have multiple chances to get involved. Focus group meetings will be held at the Gas Division building (16 N Oak Avenue) on October 7th-8th, with sessions for business owners, city staff, tourism groups, students, and the general public. A town hall presentation is planned for October 23rd at City Hall, where the preliminary Master Plan will be revealed and the public can share feedback. 

If you can’t attend, you can still give your input by filling out a questionnaire online. All feedback will be summarized and delivered to the City Council in a written report.
